Oura has acquired Galen AI, a California-based startup founded in 2025 by Stanford graduates Viraj Mehta and Priyanka Shrestha. Galen AI developed an AI-powered platform that consolidates medical records, lab results, medications, and wearable data into a single secure system. The team has joined Oura as part of the deal.
By integrating Galen AI's infrastructure with the continuous biometric tracking of its smart ring, Oura is aiming to deliver more personalised health insights that draw on both clinical and consumer data sources. The acquisition reflects the company's stated ambition to move beyond hardware into what it describes as a full-stack health platform offering contextual, personalised guidance.
Tom Hale, CEO of Oura, said the Galen AI founders bring a combination of health domain knowledge, AI expertise, and product vision. The co-founders said joining Oura would allow them to bring their work to scale while maintaining clinical rigour and a focus on privacy.
The deal follows a series of acquisitions as Oura builds out its platform across health domains, having previously acquired Veri for metabolic health, Sparta Science for performance analytics, and Doublepoint for gesture-based interfaces.
