Mubadala Investment Company has invested $75 million in WHOOP through a strategic partnership aimed at expanding preventative healthcare and performance science capabilities in the UAE.

The partnership was announced during the Make it in the Emirates Forum 2026 and includes plans for WHOOP to establish a dedicated UAE office, launch full Arabic localisation across its platform, and expand its Advanced Labs biomarker testing offering in the region.

WHOOP develops wearable technology focused on recovery, sleep, strain, and overall health monitoring. The company’s platform combines physiological data with behavioural insights to support performance optimisation and preventative health tracking.

As part of the agreement, the companies will also launch the WHOOP–Mubadala Health Research Initiative, which will work with UAE institutions on longitudinal studies covering cardiovascular health, sleep science, recovery, and behavioural performance. According to the companies, the initiative is intended to strengthen local research capabilities and support the UAE’s broader ambitions in health, longevity, and preventative care.

The expansion of WHOOP Advanced Labs will make the UAE the first international market outside the US to offer the company’s full biomarker testing experience. Mubadala said the partnership aligns with its broader strategy of building data-enabled healthcare infrastructure and attracting global health technology companies to Abu Dhabi.

“We have seen strong engagement and meaningful growth across the region,” WHOOP founder and CEO Will Ahmed said in a statement, adding that the partnership reflects a shared ambition to build “one of the world’s most advanced ecosystems for preventative health, performance science, and research-led innovation.”
