Legacy, a US-based male fertility clinic and at-home sperm testing platform, has launched an updated semen collection kit featuring the ProteX™ Semen Collection Cup developed by Reproductive Solutions.

The new collection cup will now be included in all Legacy semen analysis and sperm cryopreservation kits at no additional cost. According to the companies, the technology is designed to improve sample handling and transport conditions for at-home fertility testing workflows.

Reproductive Solutions’ ProteX cup was developed to support sperm sample integrity for up to 24 hours under defined transport conditions, while reducing leakage risk and minimizing exposure to environmental changes during shipping. The product currently retails for $99.95 as a standalone offering.

Legacy said the partnership builds on its broader focus on clinical quality and operational consistency as adoption of at-home male fertility services expands across fertility clinics, reproductive urology practices, and military health systems. The company previously reported that its at-home workflows achieved around 30% faster transit times and an average 11% higher sperm motility retention compared to competing at-home testing options.

The announcement also referenced retrospective clinical and laboratory studies evaluating ProteX-collected samples, including a study involving more than 1,000 ICSI cycles conducted at Columbia University Fertility Center.

Legacy operates a CLIA-certified andrology laboratory and offers services including semen analysis, sperm freezing, DNA fragmentation testing, and post-vasectomy testing.
